Services at UU House

"We have an amazing staff of people. We have a library and a group of people with whom I have things in common. I've enjoyed making new friends. It's been an adventure, and much differentthan I thought."

—Bill, Priestley House Resident

Our community includes the Joseph Priestley House, which provides independent living and personal care/assisted living, and the Benjamin Rush House, which provides skilled nursing and rehabilitative services. Both houses benefit from our expert healthcare services, as well as a full complement of world-class support capabilities. Additionally, both houses offer respite stays,as well as recuperative and temporary services. Residents are welcome depending on bed availability in the appropriate unit.

Joseph Priestley House: Independent Living and Personal Care/Assisted Living

The Joseph Priestley House offers Independent Living and Personal Care/Assisted Living. Both types of living arrangements allow residents with increased needs to remain independent for a longer period of time.

Independent Living
Individuals who are able to live independently can take advantage of our private rooms, which range in size from spacious to cozy and which are accessible by elevator. Independent living residents receive other personal care services as needed to maximize their independence and quality of life.

  an assistive device?

Personal Care/Assisted Living
Our personal care/assisted living program provides further support for carrying out daily living tasks based on each individual's specific needs. Those needs may include assistance with bathing and dressing or escort to daily activities.

Benjamin Rush House: Skilled Nursing Care and Short-Term Rehabilitative Services

The Benjamin Rush House is both Medicare and Medicaid certified and offers skilled nursing care. In fact, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) have awarded Rush House a rare five-star rating based on our health inspections, nursing home staffing, and quality measures. We have private and semi-private rooms, all on one floor, for individuals who need 24-hour intermediate or skilled nursing care.

Restorative Nursing
Rush House provides a world-class restorative nursing program to help residents function at the peak of their abilities. Our restorative nursing program serves as the bridge between physical, occupational, and/or speech therapy and nursing. Our specialists work with residents one to one to improve skills in walking and mobility, bathing, dressing and grooming, eating and swallowing, transferring from bed to chair, amputation care, and communication ability.

Short-Term Rehabilitation
In addition to long-term residential care, Rush House provides rehabilitative services to individuals who need short-term care.
